**Obituary for Rosemary T. Rice**

Rosemary T. Rice, a beloved educator and cherished family member, passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on June 21, 1946, in Martin, KY, Rosemary grew up in the nearby town of McDowell. She graduated in 1964 from McDowell High School. After graduating high school, Rosemary attended Prestonsburg Community College and later the University of Kentucky where she earned her Bachelors in Business Education. After moving to Ohio with her husband Tom for a teaching position, Rosemary earned her Masters in Education Administration from the University of Cincinnati. Rosemary made her home in Clermont County, OH, where she dedicated over 40 years of her life to the field of public education. Her passion for teaching and mentorship shone brightly during her time at Clermont Northeastern High School and the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development, where she influenced countless students and colleagues alike.

An active member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Rosemary found community and joy in her church family. She was actively involved in her Bible study care group and the greeting program where she held a leadership position. She often combined her love for sharing knowledge with her love for life, traveling to new places, dancing with joy, reading, and attending concerts and plays that brought her happiness. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her granddaughter, Holly, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Melissa Chandler, and son-in-law, Greg Chandler of Batavia, OH, as well as her dear granddaughter, Holly Chandler of Arlington, VA. She also leaves behind her niece, Rhonda (John) Turner-Foster, of Owenton, KY , and nephew, Anthony (Nikki) Turner, of Salyersville, KY and many cousins and extended family.

A visitation will take place at Mt. Carmel Christian Church on July 6, 2026, beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:30 PM. Rosemary's loved ones will gather for a graveside service at Graceland Memorial Gardens on July 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Though we will miss her warmth, laughter, and wisdom, Rosemary's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were lucky enough to know her. Her journey was well-lived and her impact everlasting.
