Rosemary Ruth Whitney (nee Grant) of Milford, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 20, 2021. Rosemary was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 5, 1941 to William S. and Mary Jane Grant (nee Staiger). Rosemary recently enjoyed the celebration of her 80th birthday and was pleased to receive birthday greetings from many friends and family. Loving wife of 55 years to Michael Anthony Whitney. Beloved mother of Ann (also of Milford), and John (Alexis) of Louisville, KY. Treasured grandmother of Mary Jane (MJ) and Andrew Cook. Dear sister of Ellen (Jim) Bachmann of New Albany, OH. Rosemary graduated from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH in 1963. She and Mike were married in 1965, and settled in the Chicago area from 1970 to 1986. Rosemary was a reference librarian at the Barrington Area Library in Barrington, IL and earned her Master's degree in Library Science from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. She and Mike moved to North Granby, CT in the late eighties, where Rosemary worked at the Simsbury Public Library. They then moved back to Ohio in 1993, settling in the Cincinnati area. Rosemary worked at the UC Blue Ash Library for a few years, and then she and Mike launched their own consulting business, Creative Strategies, LLC, where Rosemary was VP of Market Research for 16 years. Throughout her life, Rosemary was an avid reader and a member of several book clubs, which she enjoyed immensely. Her greatest joy was her family, to whom she was a constant source of love and support. She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends.
