Roy Gene Wilson

Milford, Ohio resident, Roy Gene Wilson "Doby", age 72, passed August 22, 2020 at Hospice of Hope Anderson after a battle with cancer. Mr. Wilson was born October 8, 1947 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Roy C. and Lorene (nee Barnett) Wilson. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his two sisters; Karen (the late Jim) Pauckner of Sardinia, Ohio and Eulanda (Steve) Contois of Milford, Ohio along with his nieces and nephew. He was also survived by many loving friends and companions.
Shortly after his graduation from Goshen High School in 1965, Mr. Wilson served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. There was no mistaking Roy's love for his country and military service.
Roy lived life to the fullest. He was a talented hair designer who worked many years for McAlpin's and Dillard's Hair Salons. He Soared to the top by earning his number "1" spot in McAlpin's top twenty for most of his career He was a wonderful instructor and mentor to many aspiring hair designers. His most beloved assistant and longtime friend, Becky "Buck" Wallace can attest, he was one of the best. As an instructor in hair design and best techniques, he taught many successful classes, but he was best known for his "Building your own Business" (or as he called it BYOB) class. His coined phrase, "Do it with style" described his mindset for everything in life. From his choice of dressing to his exotic collection of historic cars, he did it in style. After retiring from hair design, he drove a school bus for Milford Schools. Though, Mr. Wilson did not have any children of his own, he held a special place in his heart for all of the children on his bus route. He will be missed by all who loved him.
At his request, no public services will be held. Private Military Honors will be held at burial.
