It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell Lee Sears, age 62, who left us peacefully on March 8, 2025, after a courageous journey through life. Born on November 2, 1962, in Cincinnati, OH, Russell spent his childhood in Milford, OH and traveled the world throughout his Naval deployment. He then settled in Morrow, OH, creating a loving home for his family there.
Russell dedicated a decade of his life to the United States Navy, serving honorably and contributing to the vital nuclear power program. His commitment to service was matched only by his passion for life. A true Renaissance man, Russell enjoyed spending his spare time riding motorcycles, restoring classic cars, and other hobbies like drawing, painting, woodworking, and blacksmithing. Each stroke of a brush or hammering of metal was a reflection of his creative spirit.
Family was at the heart of Russell's life. He cherished the moments spent with his beloved grandchildren-Layla, Evelyn, Noah, and Jethro-finding joy and laughter in every memory created together. Russell was a devoted son, husband, and father, leaving behind his loving wife, Pamela, his mother Marilyn Sears, and his children: Joshua (Laura) Sears, Emily (Justin) Jones, and Kyle (Joanna) Sears. He also leaves his sister Deborah Thomas and brother Randall (Brianna) Sears, as well as countless friends who will remember his warmth and humor.
A celebration of Russell's life will take place on March 14, 2025, at the Evans Funeral Home in Goshen. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Russell will be laid to rest in Milford, OH, at Graceland Memorial Gardens, where his spirit will always be close to those he loved.
As we gather to honor Russell, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and laughs, just as he would have wanted. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who know him, reminding us to embrace life's adventures and the importance of family.
