Sandra D. Nause

October 26, 1945 — January 24, 2026

Sandra "Sandy" Nause joined her beloved husband in Heaven on January 24, 2026. Those who knew Jerry and Sandy find comfort in imagining them together again.

Born on October 26, 1945, in Williamsburg, OH, Sandy is survived by her loving children, Carl and Sheri Nause and Debbie Luschek. She was a proud grandmother to Korina (Eric) Bennett, Gerald (Tori) Nause, Mike (Alysa) Luschek, and Lori Luschek, and a devoted great-grandmother to Kason Bennett, Emmy Bennett, Larry Luschek, and Babygirl Luschek. She will also be missed terribly by her special granddog, Miley.

She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Lois Nause, Barb Nause, Margaret (Kelly) Wilson, Pam (Steve) Crabb, Teri Hildebrandt, Connie Nause, and Alison (Doug) Vastine, as well as her brothers-in-law Joe Witschger, Rick Ferrell, Greg (Jodie) Nause and Mick (Sheila) Nause.

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald "Jerry" Nause; her infant son, Paul Nause; her parents, Murrel and Randy Rankin; her father Edward (Esther) Lutes; her son-in-law Larry Luschek, her sister Barbara Witschger; her sisters-in-law Patty Nause and Angie Ferrell; and her brothers-in-law Dale Hildebrandt, Joe Nause, and Charles Nause.

Sandy spent many years as a bus driver for Goshen Schools, where she was known for being firm, fair, and deeply respected by her students. In a full-circle moment, she even drove her future daughter-in-law to school.

Creativity was at the heart of Sandy's life. She was an avid crafter who loved working with ceramics and, at one point, proudly owned her own craft consignment store, Busy Hands. Sandy was also a passionate lover of animals. Alongside her husband, she cared for countless creatures over the years. They had everything from deer and raccoons to swans and squirrels. She had many beloved pets who were treated as true family members.

What truly set Sandy apart, though, was her personality. She was absolutely hilarious and completely unapologetic about being herself. Known for her funny faces, perfectly timed (and sometimes wildly inappropriate) comments, and a sense of humor that could leave you crying with laughter, Sandy never worried about what others thought.

Sandy's life was filled with love, laughter, and creativity, and her memory will live on in the stories, smiles, and traditions she leaves behind.
