It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we confirm that our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Sandra J. Thompson, passed away in her sleep peacefully on September 21, 2025 at 80 years of age. Her feisty spirit and love for others will be greatly missed by all.
Sandy was preceded by Doris Ann Young Hardyman, mother, John C. Hardyman, Stepfather, husbands David M. Thompson and David L. Hunneman, brother in law Edwin P. Hunneman.
Lovingly remembered by Karlena Edenfield, sister. Children; Michael L. Hunneman Sr., Joseph P. Hunneman, Nada C. Hunneman, and Jeffrey D. Hunneman. Step Children; Debbie Thompson, Beth A. Thompson, and Michael Thompson, along with nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, survived by two nephews and a niece.
Sandy attended Ripley High School until 1961, and proudly completed her GED later in life. Sandy was a member of the Lady's Oriental Shrine in Brookville, Florida and a member of the Lady's Order of Kentucky Colonels. She also worked at St. Joseph's Hspital in Tampa, Florida in labor and delivery. Sandy was an avid and active crocheter and knitter, giving away hundreds of hats and blankets for newborns she cared for.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Evans Funeral Home - Goshen. Services will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
