Sharon Miller Bevis, beloved Mom, “Gigi,” and wife of Rexford Bevis, died October 7, 2022 at the SEM Haven Assisted Living facility in Milford, Ohio. Sharon taught elementary education in the Oakwood City School District, Oakwood, Ohio before moving to Mariemont, Ohio with husband Rex. Sharon was a two term Village of Mariemont Councilmember in the 1980’s while raising her three children. She later returned to teaching and enjoyed a lengthy career as a 2nd grade teacher at Mariemont Elementary School. Sharon received her BA Degree in Elementary Education at Miami University and her Master’s Degree at Northern Kentucky University. Sharon taught religious education at St. Gertrude Church in Madeira, Ohio and was an early Trustee in the Mariemont Preservation Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Helen Miller and is survived by her husband, Rex; sister Barbara Reed (Ken) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; and children Rexford Bevis, Jr. (Liz), Julie Sheffer (Scott), Richard Bevis (Emily); grandchildren Matthew Sheffer, Kaci Sheffer, Benjamin Sheffer, Mason Bevis, and Alyson Bevis; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 14 at 1:00PM at St. Gertrude Church, 7630 Shawnee Run Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243, where family and friends will be received at 11:30AM for visitation.
A Memorial Reception will be held at the Kenwood Country Club, 6501 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243 following the Funeral Mass.
Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 15 at Monroe Mound Cemetery, 560 S. Main Street, Monroe, Ohio 45050.
