Sherri Mazan, a beloved, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on October 7, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with complications from cancer. She was 64 years old.
Born on August 20, 1960, in Cincinnati, Sherri brought joy and kindness to everyone she met. Sherri dedicated her life to her family and to working with children with special needs. Her compassion and commitment to her students made a profound impact on their lives and the lives of their families. Sherri's ability to connect with each child showcased her firm belief in their potential.
Sherri was truly "good" personified. Her kindness radiated in everything she did, and her ability to bring laughter into the lives of those around her was unmatched. She had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up a room and uplift spirits, making her a cherished friend to many.
Sherri had a profound love for animals and nature. She found joy in being in nature, birdwatching, and even holding frogs-small moments that brought her immense happiness. Her passion for the natural world inspired those around her to appreciate its beauty and diversity.
Sherri was a model of great strength and unwavering faith. Her resilience in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to many, demonstrating the power of hope and positivity. While we mourn our beloved Sherri, we do find peace and joy in knowing that she is now whole again, free from suffering. We imagine her running and dancing freely with the same exuberance she brought to life, a comforting thought for those who loved her.
She is survived by her parents Robert and Elaine Mason, her husband, Bernie Mazan, and her three cherished children, Scott (Eva) Mazan, Melanie (Doug) Hart, and Bradley Mazan, who were the pride of her life. Sherri is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Bobby Mason, Carol (Tim) Sams, Lisa (John) McFarlane, as well as her grandchildren Liam, Celina, Peyton, and Carter Mazan- Pérez.
Visitation will be held at Evan's Funeral Home in Milford, OH, on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a funeral service. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery. All guests are welcome to attend any and all parts of the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a the ASPCA or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, both causes that were very dear to Sherri's heart.
Sherri's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be dearly missed and affectionately remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering love.
