Her home was always immaculate, reflecting the care and attention she lavished on her loved ones. As a devoted caregiver, she poured her heart into tending to her family, ensuring they were always surrounded by her warmth and affection.
Shirley held a deep faith and found solace in the walls of her church, where her spirit was uplifted by the songs of praise. The silver screen held a special place in her heart, with "Showboat" standing out as her favorite movie, a timeless classic that brought her endless delight. The theater, with its tales of drama and intrigue, provided her with an escape into fantastical worlds where she could lose herself for a while.
Despite facing the trials of tuberculosis in her youth, Shirley's resilient spirit shone through, guiding her through challenges with grace and strength. She embraced life with a quiet determination, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Candace (Guy) Bainum, Sandra Johnson, Karen (Robert Davis) Johnson and Beth Johnson, her grandchildren Nathan, Daniel, Isaac, Hannah, Adam, Summer and Melody and her great-grandchildren Nora, Bo, Miles and Aubree. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Scott Johnson, son Daniel Johnson and son-in-law Henry Drew.
A graveside service to honor Shirley Marie Johnson's life will be held at 11:00 am on September 23, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery. Shirley will be laid to rest, surrounded by the love and memories she inspired in those she leaves behind. May her gentle spirit continue to guide us through the days ahead, as we remember the beauty and simplicity she brought to our lives.
