Shirley K Varner

Shirley K Varner, a beloved member of the Batavia community, passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 89. Known for her strong work ethic and selfless nature, Shirley was a pillar of her community. She enjoyed spending time in her kitchen, canning fresh produce and showcasing her culinary talents.

A devout member of St. Philomena Church, Shirley dedicated much of her time to serving others and was actively involved in church activities. She was a dedicated mother who always prioritized her children, never missing any of their sporting events.

Shirley is the wife of the late Charles Joseph "Joe" Varner, devoted mother of Brenda K., Charles J. Jr., Timothy E. and Jonathan W. Varner, loving grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 13 sister of James Wagner, Vernon "Fuzz" Wagner, Mary "Jane" Kelley, the late Maurice Wagner, the late Raymond Wagner, the late Norma Wirsch, the late Betty Scott, the late Rosella Wagner and the late Phyllis Wagner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, 1944 State Route 28, Goshen on Monday, June 3rd from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Philomena Church beginning at 11 AM.

Shirley's memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
