It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Louis Gaunce, 48, on August 1, 2026. Born on January 16, 1978, in Georgetown, Ohio, Stephen was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend who touched the lives of many in his community. He spent almost twenty fulfilling years at Superior Oil, where his commitment and hard work were well-known and appreciated. Steve found joy in the simple things in life. A die-hard baseball fan, he was just as enthusiastic about the game as he was about coaching his sons' teams, sharing his passion with young players and instilling in them the values of teamwork and perseverance. His love for music shone brightly during his time as a deacon at Eastgate Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing and uplifting his congregation. But he loved his wife and children the most. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nicole Gaunce, and their six wonderful children: Noah, Naomi, Cody, Emmanuel "Manny," Joseph Marr, and Moses Gaunce. Steve also leaves behind his mother, Melissa Gaunce, siblings, Amy and Joshua (Heather), and niece and nephews, Thomas (Taylor), Allison (Marcus), Prince, and Adam. He was embraced by two loving families, including his in-laws Mitch and Rhonda Bradshaw, Rachael (Brandon) Bradshaw, Tiffany Brown, and Adam (Adri) Bradshaw, and nieces and nephews, Kenzie (Cody), Chloe, Micah, Lennon, Avett and Reign, in a circle of love that inspired many. Throughout his life, Steve showed immense compassion, having opened his heart and home to 57 foster children. Some of whom still call him Dad and Papa G. His legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and a love that knows no boundaries Memorial services will be held at Faith Church, 5910 Price Road, Milford, Ohio, Friday, August 7, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 AM-12 PM with service immediately following. The family suggests wearing sports fan apparel in remembrance of Steve's passion for sports.
