Sylvan Goodwin "Junior" was born in Harlan Township, Warren County, Ohio on August 30, 1933 to the late Sylvan J. Goodwin ad Flora Mae (Kipp) Goodwin and passed away May 24, 2026. He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn (McLaughlin) Goodwin.
Junior served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Ohio State Department of Transportation for 31 years while farming. After retiring in1982 he devoted his life to farming and traveling to many exciting places.
Junior is survived by his second wife Hazel Virginia (Aldridge), his children Natalie G (Tony) Gazo of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Bruce O. (Carole) Goodwin, and Deborah L. (Dairl) Hicks all of Pleasant Plain, Ohio: and Melissa K. (Chris) Pike of New Richmond, Ohio and step-children Elyce R. (John Rosenberger) Malott of Milford, Ohio and Michael T. (Larissa) Malott of Batavia, Ohio. Also survived by Grand Children Wendy Ramalingam, Jennifer Steinmetz, Violet Williams, Joshua Gazo, Theresa Bloom, Katrina Hart, Brian Hicks, Kelly Loy, Connor Pike, Aaron Pike, and step-grandchildren Adrian Mickles, Kody Kennedy, Jonathan Kennedy, Savannah Kennedy, Tyler Malott and Timothy Malott. Also survived by Twenty (20) Great-Grand Children.
Siblings survived by Junior are Marie E. Williams of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; Myra A. Williams of Blanchester, Ohio; Myrna E. Fangman of Batavia, Ohio; Glenn K. Goodwin of Wilmington, Ohio; Marsha A. Childress of Newtonsville, Ohio; and Melanie E. Forste of Mainville, Ohio. Siblings preceding Junior in death were Mary E. Scott, Mildred E. Smith and Marjorie A. Cleaver.
The family will be receiving friends Friday May 29th at Evans Funeral Home 1944 Ohio 28, Goshen, Ohio. Visitation starting at 6 PM with Butlerville #135 F&AM Service, Scottish Rite Service and Goshen #382 Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:45 PM.
Funeral Service lead by Reverend Joe Childress Saturday May 30th at 10 AM at the funeral Home. Graveside Service with military honors to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery, Harlan Township, Warren County, Ohio. Donation to Charity of your choice.
