Sylvia Ann Sparks

Sylvia Ann Sparks, a vibrant soul born on January 8, 1927, in Clay County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Sylvia lived a life rich in joy and character, fondly remembered for her love of singing, dancing, and cooking up delicious meals that brought family together. She had a unique talent for crowing like a rooster, a beloved quirk that would always bring a smile to those around her. An avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, Sylvia had a mind that was as sharp as her spirit was warm.

Sylvia was the proud mother of her beloved children, Terry (Judy) Sparks, Michael Sparks and Kim (Darrell) Thornton. She is also survived by Sister-in-law Willene Farmer, close friend Yonette Gover, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends and her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She may not have had a formal diploma, but she managed and thrived in her role as a manager with a creativity and fierceness that inspired those around her.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Sylvia's remarkable life during her funeral service at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on December 13, 2024, at 1:30 PM. Visitation will begin an hour prior, at 12:30 PM, allowing all who loved her to share stories and fond memories.

Sylvia Ann Sparks, you touched our hearts in ways words cannot express. Your laughter, your songs, and your unwavering spirit will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those who had the pleasure of knowing you.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Sparks, parents Alvin & Elizabeth Farmer, sister Ruby Baker and brother Edward Farmer.
