Thomas Michael Barrows

Thomas Michael Barrows, age 70, passed away suddenly at home on July 23, 2023. He was born on February 7th, 1953 in Detroit Michigan to Betty (Cameron Irvine) and Floyd Barrows.

Tom was a graduate of Henry Ford High School in 1971 and attended Michigan Tech and Wayne State University School of Engineering earning a bachelor’s degree. After graduation his career led him to Industrial Steel Treating Co. in Jackson, Michigan and finally to Ford Motor Company where he retired after 30 years in 2018.

Tom was a devoted family man. Noted for being extremely good hearted and always willing to help anyone in need – he was a true Eagle Scout. He loved the outdoors, family vacations in Glen Arbor and Mackinac Island, camping, biking, and most recently developed an interest in bourbon.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy (Latocki) with whom he would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on September 12th; a son Sean Barrows of Stratford CT; a daughter Kelli (David) Sharpe of Monroe OH; his treasured and adored granddaughters Addison and Hailey Sharpe; brother Greg (Linda) Barrows of Rochester MI; sister in law Luanne Latocki of Milan MI; brother in law Kevin (Victoria) Latocki of Tecumseh MI; and two nieces and three nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Barbara and Floyd Latocki, and his best 4-legged friend, Tucker.

A Family and Friends gathering will be held in Milford, Ohio at Evans Funeral Home on Friday July 28th, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm followed by service at 4:00 pm at Evans Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cincinnati Nature Center (his favorite place to “get lost” in the woods), American Heart Association, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
