It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Martin Nickolin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed electrical engineer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 10, 1945, Thomas's journey through life was marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering passion for electronics.
Despite facing challenges in his early life, Thomas persevered and pursued his education, attending night school for 12 years to earn his Bachelor's degree, an achievement that he accomplished with honors. His commitment to his studies was exceptional, only missing three days of schooling during that entire period.
His career as an electrical engineer was not just a profession but a true calling. He finished his career at L3 Harris, he excelled in his work, eventually retiring as a defense contractor. Never one to be idle, Thomas continued sharing his expertise as a defense consultant, further showcasing his love for his field.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Thomas was a family man at heart. He was blessed with a loving wife, Irene, and a son Michael Nickolin, son-in-law Barry Parks, step-daughter Michelle Weeks-Taylor and step-son Michael Weeks , who brought immense joy and pride to his life. His grandchildren, Krista, Keri, Windy, Kiara, and Lexy, were his greatest treasures, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Thomas's warm personality and ability to connect with others were among his most admirable traits. Known for his affable nature and gift for conversation, he could strike up a dialogue with anyone, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In honoring Thomas's life and legacy, funeral services and ceremonies will be held to celebrate his memory. A visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on October 9, 2024, starting at 9:30 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, where friends and family will gather to share stories and reminisce about the impact Thomas had on their lives. The burial will then be conducted at Spring Grove Cemetery, where Thomas will be laid to rest.
Thomas Martin Nickolin will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his love for his family, and his passion for his work. May his spirit live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
