Thomas Edward Rice, 77, of Loveland, Ohio passed away on March 20, 2022 at the Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, Ohio. He was born February 28, 1945 in Martin, Kentucky, a son of Orville Rice and Imogene Craft Rice. Thomas graduated from Garrett High School in Garrett, Kentucky in 1964. He attended the University of Kentucky where he received a degree in secondary education. He later received a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Xavier University. As a faithful and loved employee of the Clermont Northeastern School District, Thomas served as a history teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent until 1993. He then worked for the Ohio Department of Education in the Division of School Finance. Mr. Rice retired from the Montgomery County School District in 2003 after 34 faithful years in the field of education. Thomas, known to many as "Tommy", and to his grandkids "Poppy", was passionate about his relationship with his Savior, his family, his church, Kentucky basketball, and golf. Much of his daily life was spent working at church, preparing adult Sunday school lessons, watching the UK Wildcats on television, spending time with his family, and teeing it up at Hickory Woods golf course. Thomas and his wife Carol were faithful members of Milford Christian Church. Thomas is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Carol Clark Rice of Loveland, Ohio; two daughters, Melissa Chandler and her husband Greg of Batavia, Ohio and Ashley Kimball and her husband Chad of Loveland, Ohio; a son, Chris Keeton and his wife Danielle of Winchester Kentucky; a sister, Alva Clark and her husband James of Winchester, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jack Keeton, Holly Chandler, Mason Kimball, Connor Keeton, and Hailey Kimball; one niece, Amy Handshoe and her husband Ron of Winchester Kentucky; one nephew, Kevin Clark and his wife Amy of Wauseon, Ohio. A visitation will be held from 4:OO PM to 6:OO PM on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Milford Christian Church, 844 OH 131, Milford, Ohio 45150. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Milford Christian Church at the above address. Evans Funeral Home - Milford is serving the family.
