Verna "Mae" Bowling age 94, of Blanchester passed away surround by her family, Wednesday December 9, 2020. She was born January 27, 1926 in Spring Creek, Kentucky the daughter of Charles Walker and Maggie (nee Helton) Smith. She was a graduate of Oneida High School and worked for a few years at RCA. After her marriage to Ray W. Bowling, she became a homemaker and a farmer with her husband. She helped with all the daily chores on the farm including milking the dairy cows, gardening and even horseback riding on her horse Flint, She became a member of the Eastern Star, and the First Baptist Church of Blanchester where she taught Bible School. Ray preceded her in death in 2006, as did her grandson Ray in 1981 and her son, Roger Bowling in 2011. She is the loving mother and mother-in-law of; Bill and June Bowling, Sharon & Joe Wisbey, Debbie & Jerry Paul, devoted grandmother of; James, Gillian, Johnathan and Cory Bowlling, Brian and Chelsea Bowling, Mark, Daniel and Eric Paul, Hannah and Haley Wisbey, great grandmother of; Haiden Bowling, Chloe and Gage Paul, Evan and Violet Paul, dear sister of: Herbert (Nancy) Smith and the late Les Smith, Evelyn Anness, Omus Smith, Earl Smith, June Stewart and Carl Smith. Mae leaves many loving nieces, nephews, friends and her special friends; Lady and Smokey. Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 18, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Blanchester, 304 W. Center St. Blanchester, 45107 with visitation beginning at 12 Noon. Reverend Steve Sabin will officiate. Burial will be in the Blanchester IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers her family requests memorials in her honor to the First Baptist Church of Blanchester at the address above. Evans Funeral Home in Goshen is serving the family.
