Vincent Anthony Polimeni, born in Cambridge, MA July 10, 1944 left this life on January 6, 2025 in his home in Miami Township, OH. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, godfather, friend, and engineer who always gave so much of his heart that it finally gave out. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stephanie Polimeni (nee Ajewska), his daughters Tina (Jay) Fizer and Victoria (Kevin Rodgers) Polimeni and granddaughters Delilah and Margot Fizer.
Vince is the oldest and only son of 4 boisterous Italian-Lithuania children born to Helena (nee Shates) and Michael Polimeni. He is survived by his 3 sisters Judy (Michael) McNamara, Eleanor (late Ronald) Paolillo, and Claire (Thomas) Koen and they will tell you first that he was their mother's favorite, calling him "My Vincent."
Vince has been an avid sports fan his whole life and started out by playing football and hockey. His father gave him his Corvair to drive from Boston, MA to Golden, CO to attend the Colorado School of Mines and graduate with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1968. Vince transitioned from big brother to patriarch after losing his father when he was 26 and is in many ways the center of this loud, competitive, game loving, & dancing family. A passionate romantic he met his wife Stephanie on a blind date set by his sister Eleanor and they proceeded to marry in 1975, have 2 fast talking daughters born in Boston and raised in Ohio. He started working at Inland Steel before his 30+ year career at General Electric that brought him to Ohio. After retiring from GE, he continued to work quality engineering roles in planes, trains, and ...mattresses until he was 79 years old.
He is most remembered for having the amazing personal quality of being a good listener and your champion. You could tell him anything and he'd be genuinely excited for you. He loved his family, music, traveling, Italian and Mexican food, trying new things, talking on the phone, and watching any Boston sports (or the teams of his loved ones) for as long as he could stand it. He will be missed every day.
His family will recieve friends at Evans Funeral Home, in Milford, on Monday, January 13th from 5-7 PM. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Tuesday beginning at 11 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemertery in Miamiville.
