It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia "Ginny" Lee Haemmerle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated educator, who left this world peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 3, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Betty (nee Koverman) Butner.
Ginny wore many hats throughout her journey-embracing the roles of a devoted wife to her cherished husband Bob, a nurturing mother, and a doting grandmother. Her love knew no bounds, and she committed herself unconditionally to her family. Ginny lived boldly and unapologetically, illuminating the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter had the power to light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
As a guidance counselor and teacher at McAuley High School for many years, Ginny touched the lives of countless students. She cared deeply for each one, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. Her dedication to education inspired so many, and she found joy in helping students navigate their paths to success.
Ginny had a zest for life that extended beyond the classroom. She cherished the time spent traveling with Bob, creating beautiful memories together. As an avid reader, Ginny joined a book club where she found solace in books, the stories they contained, and made many new friendships.
