Ginny Wahl

Virginia Elizabeth "Ginny" Wahl, born March 18, 1924, to the late H.J. and Johanna (Nee Oenbrink) Benken, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late William J. Wahl; devoted mother of Bill (Judy) Wahl, Ruthanne (Dr. Bob) Werner, Marian Moorman, Linda (Rich) Grimes, Carol (Kevin) Broderick, Gerry (Jeanne) Wahl, and Jim (Trish) Wahl; dear grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother of 28; cherished sister of Marilyn Frush. Ginny was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Irwin Benken, and sisters Joan Reeves, and Irene Terbeck.

Ginny is remembered for always having a smile on her face. Her parents opened the H.J. Benken floral shop in the 1930’s and she spent her life doing what she loved, working with flowers. She spent a lot of her time in the garden and her flower beds. Ginny always made sure there were hanging baskets and other floral displays on her front porch. She was also a long time parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and she had a strong devotion to Mary. Ginny lived a very happy life with her seven children and all of her grandchildren. She will be pleasantly remembered and never forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28th, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Evans Funeral Home – 741 Center Street, Milford, OH 45150. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church – 5890 Buckwheat Road, Milford, OH 45150. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church or the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Right to Life group.
