Walter C. Jones Jr.

Walter C. Jones Jr. passed away March 21, 2021 at his home. He was born May 13, 1948 in Cincinnati the son of Walter C. and Mary (nee Guckes) Jones Sr. On May 28, 1976 he married Brenda Jones (nee Hammel). Their family includes children Zachary and Wendy Jones, Jaimie and Rob Smith, Emily and Joe Pollitt, Samantha and Kyle Cribbet. He was a doting, candy/cookie giving grandpa to Judah and Ellie Jones, Eliza and Ean Smith, Colston and Coby Pollitt, Kase, Korbin and KJ Cribbet. He also leaves much loved mother-in-law Wanda Hammel and brothers Eric (Debbie) and Urban Jones. There are also many nieces, nephews, "heart grandchildren" and close friends that he loved dearly.
Wally received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from University of Cincinnati. His years of teaching included Fair Acres, Wildey and Glen Este schools. He retired from teaching in 2007. Wally loved people and social gatherings. Much time was spent with family, friends and there was always food, lots of food. Many friends were made through his love of technology and the computer club he founded. As the family got older he became heavily involved the community sports programs and loved coaching all of his children. His greatest love was his family. He was happiest when spending time with them, whether playing with the grandchildren or attending NRA conventions with his boys.
His services will be 12:00 noon, March 31, 2021 at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 330 Gay St. in Williamsburg, 45176. Visitation for family and friends will be 10 am until noon at the church on March 31. Pastor Pete will officiate. Burial will follow in the Darrtown Cemetery in Milford Township, Butler County. His family requests that memorials in his honor go to Clermont County Special Olympics, c/o of Rick Dennison, 5763 Mt. Vernon Dr. Milford, Ohio 45150.
