Walter Richard Osborne

March 13, 1942 — July 5, 2016

Walter Richard (Dick) Osborne, 74 years of age, born Friday, March 13, 1942 in Edenton, Ohio to Wendell Eugene Osborne and Mercedez Frances Osborne. He grew up in Newtonsville, Ohio and passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.

He was the third of five siblings: Jeannie Osborne Mason (deceased) and Robert, Richard, Ronald, (deceased) and Rodney Osborne. There are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dick was married to A. Cleo (Cales) Osborne and has two wonderful daughters, Penny Michelle Bayne (husband Rick) and Priscilla Cleo Osborne. He has two grandchildren, Michelle Bayne and Erick Bayne.

He was faithful as a church attendant, home provider, and father, and had a zeal to work.

Dick was reared Catholic, but was lacking salvation until about 44 years of age. After reading several tracts stuck in restrooms at the General Motors plant where he worked, he became curious and full of questions, which led to his best friend, Ron Wilson, leading him to Christ in January of 1987 during a break.

Since then, he became active at First Baptist Church of Milford as a church usher and in helping to build our preacher's home. He loved working with the guys in the Print Shop and having a part in printing God's Word to send around the world. He also enjoyed visitation with George Prinzing IV and others.

Dick enjoyed carpentry and could build anything - barns, houses, dog houses, green houses, etc. If he did not know how to build it, he would figure it out. He was a good problem solver.

Dick did many jobs in his lifetime, including working as a service station attendant and pumping gas at an early school age. He washed Lykins Oil trucks and worked on Grandeys farm caring for animals. He also mowed grass with push mowers, and worked at R.A. Becker Paint Company, Taylor Tot Strollers, Vandelangalin Construction, and did commercial lawn mowing in Indian Hill and Anderson with John Lotton. He then worked on a General Motors Assembly Line, retiring in March of 1997 after serving 31+ years. After retirement, he did part time building, gardening, fishing, hiking, and camping, while enjoying church fellowships and family time.

Visitation will be held Friday July 8th from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Milford, 1367 Woodville Pike, Milford, OH. Entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum in Milford, OH. Memorial donations may be given to Bearing Precious Seed, 1369 Woodville Pike, Milford, OH 45150. Evans Funeral Home - Milford is serving the family.
