Wanda Ruth Bargo, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 6, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 4, 1938, in Harlan, KY, Wanda carried the warmth of her Appalachian roots throughout her life.
Wanda dedicated herself to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love through her family. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, her strong belief in the Apostolic Faith serving as a guiding light in times of joy and challenge.
Wanda was a spirited sports fan, ardently supporting the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, as well as passionately following UK and Tennessee basketball. Her enthusiasm shone brightly during game days, bringing her family together in spirited cheer.
Outside of sports, Wanda loved to fill her days with music, often belting out her favorite tunes during karaoke nights, dancing like nobody was watching, and savoring the thrill of a good bingo game. She had a flair for life, delighting in dressing up for every holiday, a testament to her joyous spirit and zest for celebration.
Wanda was a devoted caregiver, tirelessly serving as a nurse's aide at the Loveland Health Care Center, where her compassion and kindness touched many lives.
Wanda is the survived by her children, Ottis (Samantha Jane) Bargo, Gail (late Sidney) Hedges, Karen Jean (Richard) Byrd and Tommy Wayne (Lisa) Bargo, her 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband of 58 years, Ottis Bargo Sr. Wanda is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Josephine Evans and Christy Lynn Byrd, great-grandson, Joshua Jacob Del Vecchio brothers, Harold, Harm, Paul, Danny, Elmer and Berchel and her sisters Phyllis, Teresa and Vanda.
A visitation will be held at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Thursday, September 11th from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, beginning at 10. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
