William A. Murphy

William (Murph) A. Murphy passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2021 at 94 years of age. Murph attended Purcell Marian High School and upon graduation, served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, stationed in Hawaii, California, and Virginia. Upon discharge, Murph worked his entire career at Phototype Engraving Co. with positions ranging from apprentice to manager and customer relations. Murph was a devoted husband for 71 years of the late Julie (Niehaus) Murphy, who passed away just 2 months before him. He was the loving father of Katie (Pete) Caples, Lynn (Dennis) O'Connor and Steve (Connie) Murphy. Murph was the proud grandfather of Shayne (Robyn) Caples, Mary Kathryn Caples, Sara (Shawn) Hamilton, Jesse (Joe) Weckbacher, Ryan (Jaime) O'Connor, Corey (Susan) O'Connor, Brad (RoseAnn) Murphy, Eric (Caiti) Murphy, Alissa (Steve) Greene, and Blake Murphy. He was also the proud great grandfather of 14. He also shared a special bond with Robert ("Bob") Caples. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Gertrude Church on Friday, July 30th at 9:30am. Memorials may be given to SEM Haven in Milford, OH. Evans Funeral Home of Milford, OH serving the family.
