On March 20, 2018, Zada Jane (Cole) Hall, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 96. Zada was born on October 7, 1921 in Raleigh, IN to Melvin R. and Goldie Mae (Williams) Cole. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers Robert, Richard, John, Melvin, Jr., Howard, Leslie Eugene, William, James, Ralph, Floyd, Donald, David, Gerald, and Duane; sisters Martha Elmira, Judith Ann, Roberta, and Mary Elizabeth. She graduated from Raleigh High School in 1939 and later from Richmond Business College.
She married Wayne Robert Hall on September 1st, 1945. He preceded her in death in July 29, 1984. They had two children, Mark Allen (1950) and Patricia Jane (1952).
Zada was a Public Accountant in both Rushville, IN and Connersville, IN. As a female entrepreneur, she proudly began her own accounting and tax service. Over the years she successfully grew her business and worked with countless members of the community.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, Business & Professional Women's Club and Altrusa International. She held many offices and dedicated many hours to both organizations. In 2007, she received the highest honor of the Altrusa club, being named Woman of the Year. She was also an active member of the Central Christian Church for many years.
Zada was a wonderfully outgoing woman, full of life and personality. Her sharp wit and sense of humor shone through to the very end. She was an avid card player and enjoyed bringing home many new games for her family to play from her snowbird adventures in Florida. She was also a traveling enthusiast who enjoyed trips to Australia, New Zealand, Nova Scotia, the Caribbean, and numerous destinations in Europe.
She is survived by her son Mark Hall, wife Vicki Fritz, and granddaughter Shawn Hall; daughter Patricia (Hall) Crane and husband Jerry Crane, grandson Jeff Crane (wife Leah Crane), great granddaughter Karis Crane and great grandson Carson Crane, granddaughter Jenna (Crane) Phillips (husband Palmer Phillips), and great granddaughters Ryleigh Phillips and baby girl Phillips #2 due July 4, 2018.
A showing will be held Friday March 30, 2018 at 10am followed by a funeral service at 11am at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford, OH. She will be laid to rest at Zion Cemetery in Raleigh, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Altrusa Club of Connersville, IN scholarship fund or Hospice of Cincinnati.
